Customization

Customizing your Predator Longbow or Recurve Bow is one of the perks of purchasing a handcrafted hunting weapon. Designed to fit not only your hand, but your skills, Master Bowyer Robert Lutkenhaus gives archers the means to find the perfect bow.

Poundage

Also known as Draw Weight, Poundage is the amount of weight or strength it takes an Archer to pull back the string of the bow to its full distance. This translates into the amount of force applied to the arrow as it leaves the bow. Master Bowyer Robert Lutkenhaus recommends beginner archers to look for a bow of approximately 40 to 45 pounds.

Bow Length

Generally Longbows run between 66 and 62 inches. Recurve Bows generally are 62 inches unstrung and 59 inches while strung.

Draw Length

Draw Length is the distance from the center of the archer's chest to the tip of his or her fingers. Master Bowyer Robert Lutkenhaus can provide accurate measurements for beginner archers.

Grip Selection

Grips for both the Predator Longbows and the Predator Recurves come in three sizes: small, medium, and large. Finger Groves are also available. Additionally you can specify a Split or Non-Split Riser design.

Core

All Basic Predator Longbow and Recurve bows come with action boo core. You also have the choice of a Triple Carbon Core, Double Carbon Core, or Standard Glass (Glass is by special order). Carbon has proven to be one of the most stable and strength producing materials for Predator Longbow and Recurve construction. Predator Longbows is the home of the Triple Carbon Longbow and Recurve! You won't find these anywhere else!

Wood Selection

Longbow wood selection encompasses a large inventory of native and exotic woods as well as man-made materials such as Dymondwood, a highly engineered wood/plastic composite that has the physical and mechanical properties of high density hardwood, acrylic, polycarbonate plastics and brass. Longbow Construction Material is not limited to the below choices, but might incur additional costs depending on the availability of optional

The New Black Cat Triple Carbon Recurve handles larger amounts of stored energy and require the strength and durability of Dymondwood. Robert Lutkenhaus makes both double and triple carbon layered recurves, providing greater strength, smoother draw, and reduced hand shock comparitive to other recurve bows.
